State Government mulling to open Sanskrit University in the State:

  • The State Government was contemplating to open Sanskrit University in the State to promote Sanskrit language in a big way.
  • State Government has decided to give second official language status to Sanskrit in the State.

State Government endeavours to promote tourism in big way:

  • The State Government was endeavouring to promote tourism in a big way with special emphasis on developing basic infrastructure in virgin tourist destinations in the State.
  • Rs. 1900 crores tourism infrastructure development project to be funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has been approved for the State for development of tourism infrastructure in the urban and rural areas of Himachal Pradesh.
  • Main focus of this Project would be to create basic facilities and tourism infrastructure in rural areas of the State and develop new tourist destinations in the State.

CM online Inaugurates Cremica Food Park at Singha in Una district:

  • The State Government was providing all possible assistance to the potential entrepreneurs to establish Food and Fruit Processing Units in the State so as to provide employment to the youth, besides strengthening the economy of the farmers and fruit growers.
  •  This Food Park has been established under the Mega Food Park Scheme launched by the Government of India.
  • An investment worth Rs. 300 crore was expected in the Food Park at Singha.
  • The farmers and fruit growers of the area would get remunerative prices of their produce besides the youth would get ample opportunities of employment.

Weaker sections to get Rs. 2000 for health treatment:

  • The State government has made provision of Rs. 2482 crore for various health schemes for the year 2019-20 and various ambitious schemes are being implemented in the state to provide best health care facilities to the people.
  • “Sahara” scheme has been announced to provide financial support at the rate of Rs.2, 000 per month to such ailing persons who belong, to economically weaker sections.
  • The State has about 4,200 persons infected with HIV/AIDS. These infected persons are being provided diet allowance ranging from Rs.300 to Rs.800 per month depending on their age which now has being enhanced to Rs.1,500 per month.  These infected persons will also be provided treatment free of cost.
  • The state government will start “Sampuran Swashthya Yojna” in the State. In the first phase of this scheme, 12 medical institutions including some district hospitals will be upgraded to Sampuran hospitals. All the necessary facilities will be made available in these Sampuran Hospitals. In addition, a mechanism will be devised to ensure online monitoring of all referral cases at tertiary health centres.

CM inaugurates Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar State Library at Kennedy Chowk:

  • Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur inaugurated Bharat Ratan Dr. Bhim Rao Ambedkar State Library at Kennedy Chowk near State Vidhan Sabha Shimla constructed at a cost of about Rs. 10 crore.
  • This library has a total floor area of over 2000 sq.mtr with seating capacity of 120 persons.
  •  The State Library will have a rich collection of over 72400 books which would prove useful to the students, research scholars and general readers.
