Himachal Pradesh Weekly Current Affairs:

MoU signed for 100 MW solar power plant:

  • A Memorandum of understand (MoU) was signed between the state government and M/s Frontline Delhi for setting up of 100 MW solar power plant in the state.
  • This plant would be established with an investment of Rs. 700 crore and would provide employment opportunities to over 700 persons.

30 percent subsidy on Solar Installation and system cost:

  • In order to ensure optimum use of solar energy, the Cabinet decided to provide State subsidy of 30 percent of system cost including installation of solar water heating systems of capacities 100 LPD and 200 LPD only to all the domestic consumers in the state.

Himachal Pradesh State Construction and Demolition Waste Policy:

  • The cabinet decided to frame Himachal Pradesh State Construction and Demolition Waste Policy and Strategy to avoid, minimise, reuse, recycle and dispose-off construction and demolition waste and avoid and minimize construction waste through design and construction management.
  • This would help in checking the environmental problems that arise owning to open dumping of these wastes.
  • Under the policy, suitable land would be provided for dumping of construction and demolition waste and further its processing through private operators/agencies or by Urban Local Bodies.

District level status to Nalwar Mela Lambathach:

  • The cabinet of HP gave its consent to accord District level status to Nalwar Mela Lambathach in Thunag tehsil of Mandi district.

Potential Industrial Zone of Industrial Corridor in HP:

  • The cabinet decided to include patwar circles Baddhall Thor, Dodra in Tyambal panchayat, Dodra in Dodra panchayat, Didadasiba in Dadasiba panchayat, Dadasiba in Gurnwad panchayat, Panjal, Jakhdhar, Shamnagar, Chanaur and Jambal in Kangra district under the Potential Industrial Zone of Industrial Corridor.

Kalraj Mishra sworn in as Governor of Himachal Pradesh:

  • Former Union minister Kalraj Mishra was sworn in as the 26th Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
  • Kalraj Mishra replaced Acharya Devvrat, who has been shifted to Gujarat.
  • Kalraj Mishra, 78, had resigned from the Narendra Modi-led government as Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises in 2017 after he crossed the age of 75, the BJP’s unofficial age limit for holding an elected post.
  • The Uttar Pradesh leader did not contest the Lok Sabha elections this year.
  • Himachal Pradesh High Court Chief Justice V Ramasubramanian administered the oath of office and secrecy to Kalraj Mishra.

70th State Level Van Mahotasav held at Banala (Panarsa) area of Mandi: 

  • Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur presided over the 70th State Level Van Mahotasav held at Banala (Panarsa) area of Mandi.
  • He said the afforestation campaign must be made a mass movement by ensuring peoples participation to achieve the desired results.
  • A target has been fixed to plant 25 lakh saplings including medicinal, broadleaf and fruits plants etc. in different parts of the state during the five-day campaign and this target could be achieved with the active cooperation of the people.
  • This would not only help in increasing the forest cover but also in meeting out the fodder demand besides providing sufficient food for wild animals.

6.38 lakh cards issued under Himcare scheme:

  • As many as 6.38 lakh cards have been issued till 15th July, 2019 in the state including the tribal areas under Himcare scheme.
  • The benefit of this scheme is being given to those families who are not covered under Ayushman Bharat or any other scheme providing medical reimbursement facility.
  • Keeping in view the tough topography of the state, government is according top priority to the health sector so that every person sitting up to the remotest areas could avail health facilities near to his home.
  • Besides, the Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojna is covering around 50 crore beneficiaries in the country. This scheme is also being implemented in Himachal Pradesh and all the 4,83,643 families registered under national health insurance scheme have been brought under the ambit of this scheme.
