1. CM Shri Jairam Thakur inaugurates signage of Mahatma Gandhi:

  • CM Shri Jairam Thakur inaugurates signage of Mahatma Gandhi on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti and also photo galleries at HP State Museum at Chaura Maidan.
  • He also released a short documentary on Rock Art produced by the Language, Art and Culture Department and a Book on Baijnath Temple written by Devinder Handa.

2. Justice Suryakant has sworn in as Chief Justice of Himachal Pradesh: 

  • He was administered an oath of office by Governor Acharya Devvrat.
  • He was a judge 0f Punjab and Haryana High Court.

3. Swiss company gives a presentation on Shimla monorail service:

  • A presentation was made by the INTAMIN Transportation, Switzerland before the Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur to start monorail services in Shimla town.
  • The proposed mono train would start from ISBT Tutikandi and conclude at Panthaghati with twelve stops in between at crossing, MC parking, 103 tunnel, Vidhan Sabha, Victory tunnel, DDU hospital, lift parking, Himland, Talland, SBI ATM Khalini, BCS and Kasumpti.
  • The proposed total distance is 14 kilometers and would take 20 minutes and could carry about 1000 passengers in one hour from one point to another.
  • The representatives of the INTAMIN Transportation, Switzerland said that after all formalities have been completed this project would take about two years for completion.

4. Helicopter arranged to provide ration for people stuck in Bara Bhangal:

  • The government has arranged helicopter service to Bara Bhangal area of Kangra district for air dropping of ration to the shepherds stranded in these areas due to sudden and untimely snowfall over the Dhauladhar ranges.
  • 50 bags of foodstuff each weighing 6-7 kilograms would also be lifted from the Gaggal airport.
  • The proposed route of the helicopter would be Gaggal airport, Kangra-Jalsu Pass-Bara Bhangal (brief landing), Thamsar Pass-Khalihani Pass-Bara Bhangal-Jalsu Pass-Gaggal airport.

5. Vidyarthi Van Mitra Yojna:

  • Under the ‘Vidyarthi Van Mitra Yojna’, the plots in forest lands will be allotted to the schools for plantation purpose.
  • Under ‘Van Samridhi, Jan Samridhi Yojna’, people will be provided processing, value addition, and marketing at local-level by collecting herbs from rural forests.
