Syllabus for the Post of Executive Officer (Executive State Municipal Services) – HPPSC Shimla
Objective type (MCQ) Screening Test of two hours’ duration consisting of 100 questions of one mark each with negative marking consisting of the following syllabus:-
1. History, Geography and socio-economic development of Himachal Pradesh. = 30 marks
2. Knowledge of current events of national and international importance and such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific aspects as may be expected of an educated person who has not made a special study of any scientific subject. = 30 marks

3. Modern History (from 1857 onwards) of India, Indian culture, Indian Polity, Indian Economy, Geography of India and Disaster Management. Environment and Gender issues and teachings of Mahatma Gandhi. = 25 marks
4. Logical Reasoning & Basic Mathematics of Matriculation level. = 15 marks
