(i) The district is famous for its ancient temples like Jawalaji, Brejeshwari, Chamunda and Shiva temple of Baijnath.
(ii) Dharmsala, the district head–quarters is known for the second-highest rainfall station after Cherapunji, in the country.
(iii) The headquarters of the Tibetan Government in exile is located at Dharmsala, which is often referred to as ‘Little Lhasa’, since 1959.
(iv) The Brave race Dogra belongs to this district and the Indian Army has a ‘Dogra Regiment’.
(v)The district is famous for its historical Kangra Fort.
(vi) Palampur area of the district is famous for tea production.
(vii) Bodh village in Nurpur Tahsil of the district is the only village in the state where silk sarees are manufactured.
(viii) The district is also connected by a narrow-gauge railway line from Pathankot to Joginder Nagar.
(ix) The district is famous for its ancient art and wall paintings.
(x) Cricket stadium at Dharmsala is picturesque and unique in India because it is situated at an altitude of 1,457 meters above the mean sea level and has the beautiful snow-capped Dhauladhar ranges of Himalayan Mountains in the background. The cricket pitch at Dharmsala stadium is often considered the fastest pitch in India. The first international team that played here was the Pakistan cricket team, which played a match against the Indian ‘A’ team in 2005. The first One Day International (ODI) was played between India and England in January 2013, which England won by 7 wickets easily, despite light snow falling at the ground in the preceding weeks. The second day/night ODI match was played between India and West Indies on 17th October 2014, in which India comfortably beat the West Indies by 59 runs
