Vice Admiral Lochan Singh Pathania of Shahpur became Chief Hydrographer to the Government of India
Vice Admiral Lochan Singh Pathania, a native of Shahpur area of district Kangra, assumed the charge of Chief Hydrographer to the Government of India.
He has commanded INS Darshak and Sandhayak. During his career, spanning more than three decades, he carried out hydrographic surveys across the entire stretch of the country.
Sh. Pathania was an expert on International maritime laws pertaining to maritime boundary delimitation and has immensely contributed in addressing issues pertaining to maritime boundaries and settlement of extended continental shelf beyond exclusive economic zone.
NDDB to provide consultancy services to set up 225 crore Milk Processing Plant Dhagwar:
State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB) to provide consultancy services for the establishment of a state-of-the-art automated milk processing plant in Dhagwar, Kangra.
Dhagwar plant, with an initial capacity of 1.50 Lakh Litres Per Day (LLDP) and expandable up to 3 LLPD, would be a fully automatic facility. This ambitious project, set to be constructed with an investment of Rs. 225 crore in the first phase, aims to produce a diverse range of dairy products, including curd, lassi, butter, ghee, paneer, flavoured milk, khoya and mozzarella cheese.
Miss Earth India 2022 Vanshika Parmar:
Miss Earth India 2022, Vanshika Parmar, a native of Dhaneta of Nadaun Sub Division in Hamirpur, called on Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu.
She was crowned Miss Earth India at the age 19 at an event organised in The Philippines in November, 2022.
The Chief Minister said that Vanshika was a source of inspiration for other girls and said that Himachali girls were excelling in various fields at the International level becoming idols for others. The Chief Minister asked her to work for women empowerment and collaborate with the State Government for the welfare of single girl child.
Vanshika also remained the tourism ambassador of Ghana for the year of 2023 and has worked for the state of Philippines to promote eco tourism.
Chief Minister launches Indira Gandhi Pyari Behna Samman Nidhi Yojana
Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu launched Indira Gandhi Pyaari Behna Samman Nidhi Yojana, fourth of its election guarantee, from Keylong, Lahaul & Spiti district.
The Chief Minister launching the initial phase of this scheme which provisions Rs. 1,500 per month to all the women of Lahaul & Spit aged 18 or above.
