    Regarding Q. 16 –
Acc. to the book The suffix was used with the name of raja in chamba dynasty during the reign of Pratap Singh Varman , where as during the time of Prithvi Singh the suffix Varman was entirely dropped .
So as the question says who should be attributed as the first to use the suffix Singh ?

There is confusion about who founded the town of Bharmour Maru Varman or Meru Varman

Maru Varman had three sons. One was given ancestral home, other settled in mountains near Kashmir and the last one Meru founded the town of Bharmaur. (Jag Mohan Balokhra)
But it is also given that the rulers after Maru Varman were Jaistambh, Mahastambh.
    Maru Varman (550AD)
    Meru Varman (680 AD)
Difference of their reign is nearly of 130 years.
Also, it is said that Aditya Varman (620 AD) was great grand father of Meru Varman, then how could Meru be son of Maru.
Please clear my doubts regarding this.
    Thanking You

You are confused between two names. It is MARU and MERU Varman. The story of three sons that you are telling is of MARU. Hence he is the founder of bharmour and later he handed the state to his youngest son and became sadhu in kalpa
