By virtue of its powers, duties and functions under Article 324 read with Article 172 (1) of the Constitution of India and Section 15 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951, the election commission holds the election to constitute the new Legislative Assembly in the state of Himachal Pradesh.

  • Total number of Vidhan Sabha seats in Himachal Pradesh – 68
  • Reserved for Schedule Castes – 17
  • Reserved for Schedule Tribes – 3
  • Total number of Polling Stations – 7479
  • All Women Polling Stations – 136 (Two Polling Stations in each Constituency)
  • Candidate won with highest margin of votes: Vinod Kumar – BJP (Nachan), Votes margin – 15896
  • Candidate won with lowest margin of votes: Jagat Singh Negi – INC (Kinnaur), Votes margin – 120
