CM releases a book ‘Ekkisavin Sadi Ka Bharat’:

• CM Jai Ram Thakur released book ‘Ekkisavin Sadi Ka Bharat’ written by noted writer from Jubbal area of Shimla district Narbir Lamba.
• Shri Lamba has written 14 books on different topics besides film and documentary scripts on various issues.

State gets additional funds of Rs. 67.70 crore from GoI:

• Ministry of Tribal Affairs, GoI has approved Rs. 67.70 crore over and above the normal release of the Ministry of Rs. 43 Crore received during the current financial year 2018-19.
• Three additional Ekalvya Model Residential Schools(EMRSs) sanctioned are Pangi at Killar, Bharmour at Khani in District Chamba and Lahaul at Barring in District Lahaul-Spiti.
• Only one Ekalvya Model Residential Schools(EMRS) was functional in the State at Nichar in District Kinnaur since 2005.
• GoI has sanctioned an additional amount of Rs. 15.70 crore under Special Central Assistance to Tribal Sub Scheme which was a great achievement of the State Government.

Manali Winter Carnival:

• Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur flagged off Winter Carnival Parade from Circuit House, Manali after performing Pooja at famous Hidimba Mata temple to inaugurate five-day long 8^th National Winter Carnival-2019 at Manali in Kullu district.
• Winter Carnival 2019 is organised every year from 2-6 January.

Secretariat Sports Control Board to organize marathon on 6 January:

• HP Secretariat Sports Control Board is organizing a marathon of around six kilometers on 6 January, 2019.
• The theme of the marathon is to promote the campaign against menace of “Drug Abuse” besides promoting “Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao” campaign.
